Melanie Vance
Volleyball Instructor & Coach

Coach Melanie grew up in Grayson, Georgia in Gwinnett County and started playing volleyball at Grayson High School her freshman year. After one and a half seasons she was moved up to the Varsity team and shortly thereafter started playing for the (now defunct) East Atlanta Blitz Volleyball Club. During her high school career she was awarded the Offensive Award for the most kills recorded in one season and finished each year on the Honor Roll. After high school she went to the University of Georgia where she focused on her studies and practiced with the mens club team during their respective seasons to stay in the game. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in Romance Languages (focusing on Spanish and Portuguese). A few months after graduating from UGA she moved to Madrid, Spain and worked for 3 years as an English and Science teacher in a bilingual elementary school in the city. During this time she played for the Crossfire Volleyball Club in Madrid and traveled all over Spain and other parts of Europe participating in indoor tournaments. Today she enjoys playing on all surfaces (indoor, sand, and grass) and all formats (6s, 4s, 2s) all over the Atlanta area with Angry Dragon Volleyball and other organizations. Melanie joined TSF in 2015 and she is very happy to be here!
